Mountain Creek Wins Business Advocacy Award

Vernon, NJ (November 19, 2021) – SNOW Partners and Mountain Creek Resort were recognized by the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership with their Business Advocacy Award at their annual awards luncheon.  The award was given to recognize the resort’s efforts in helping local small businesses and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SNOW Partners CEO, Joe Hession and SCEDP President, Tammie Horsfeld

“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Mountain Creek and its parent company, SNOW Partners showed in numerous ways how they put people and community first.  From the start of the global shut down the resort’s management decided it would keep its core, year-round workforce of nearly 100 team members fully employed regardless of the impact that would have on the resort’s balance sheet.  While navigating the complicated landscape of government loans and PPP assistance, the resort quickly realized how confusing these processes could be for most small businesses and decided to offer up their legal and accounting services free of charge to those local businesses in need, helping more than 50 Sussex County small businesses secure this much needed financial assistance.  And when it became clear that the duration and extent of the pandemic was affecting many of our local Sussex County family’s ability to keep food on the table, the resort initiated a bi-weekly drive-up food pantry, providing free access to much needed groceries for those in need from May through December of 2020 helping hundreds of families to make it through that most difficult time.  Mountain Creek’s mission statement is to enhance the lives of its team, guests, and partners by building lasting connections, and through this past year, they have shown how they live those words through their actions. “ – John Connolly, PH.D – Sussex County Economic Development Partnership
